Welcome to Of Wanderings and Words
I'm Shannon. I'm a full-time freelance copywriter, blogger, and content writer with close to 20 years of professional experience writing for a wide range of companies and brands.
However, I'm also a creative writer, artist, poet, and lifelong wanderer of ideas, emotions, and quiet corners of the world. I love big ideas, beautiful things, and the slow pace of peaceful living. In fact, I've been known to describe myself to others as a total hobbit at heart.
Of Wandering and Words is a public outpost for my personal reflections — a living journal shaped by the changing seasons of my life and creativity.
Here, you'll find musings on writing, personal journeys, creativity, resilience, and whatever else strikes my fancy at the time. Some entries may be polished essays. Others might be softer — glimpses, questions, fragments. When I'm in the mood, I share practical tips and advice for other writers and creators. You might occasionally see some flash fiction, a wayward poem, or one of the Midjourney renders I make in my spare time make an appearance, as well.
All of it is offered from a place of intention and respect for both my own voice and the inner worlds of those who might pass through here. I believe in writing as a sacred act — not a product, not a performance, but a way of honoring what it means to be alive and aware in a complicated, beautiful world.
I maintain this space not as a platform to chase metrics or trends, but as a lantern on a quiet path — for myself first, and for anyone else who might find comfort, inspiration, or resonance here. I hope you find something here that helps you in your own journey or otherwise speaks to the most creative part of your soul.
