Feast of the Wandering Pen

A Living Ritual of Words and Wonder

Feast of the Wandering Pen is a personal writing ritual — a moveable, moon-driven challenge born from the simple desire to reconnect with creativity as a sacred act.

It follows the cycle of the moon, beginning on a new moon and continuing daily until the next new moon. Each day is an invitation to meet the page — not to perform or to perfect, but to wander, explore, and honor the living current of your voice.

There are no rigid rules here. Some days might yield full essays. Others might leave only a few lines scratched into the world. Both are equally welcome. The point is not output. The point is presence.

How the Feast Works

Start with a New Moon

Each Feast cycle begins when the moon is dark, full of unseen seeds.

Write Something Every Day

A sentence, a journal entry, a poem, a reflection, a few well-chosen words with some original art to match — whatever calls to you that day.

Follow the Moon's Rhythm

Waxing, full, waning, dark again. Let your creativity ebb and flow with it.

Use Prompts If You Wish

Optional daily prompts will eventually be made available for guidance and inspiration. In the meantime, you can use prompts or gather inspiration from any source you wish.

Finish at the Next New Moon

When the new moon returns, so does your chance to reflect, celebrate, and rest.

Why a “Feast”?

Because creativity is nourishment. Because showing up to the page, again and again, is a sacred offering. Because words are meant to be both shared and savored.

Participation

At this time, Feast of the Wandering Pen is a personal practice, occasionally shared with close companions, peers, and loved ones. There may be opportunities in the future for others to join more formally, but for now, it remains a quiet, living ritual.

If you feel called to create a Feast of your own someday, you are warmly encouraged to begin whenever the moon and your heart align.
